He stands in between the accuser and the accused, and meets both of them with grace and truth - if we're to live and love like Jesus, we need to be willing to do the same.

As Christians, we're called to reach out to the people in our lives who are the outcasts, the ones dealing with issues, the ones who are struggling, and those who most people wouldn't reach out to, because that's how God interacts with us. 

Pastor Brian Howard preaches out of John 3 about Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus. When we step into conversations that matter, we need to be willing to plant a seed by talking with people, water it by listening to them, and then be willing to step back and let God be the one to make it grow.

This sermon is about how as Christians our job is to guide people to Jesus rather than try to save them by our own strength, just as Philip guided Nathanael to Jesus in John 1:45-51.

Paul wasn't afraid of the shipwreck because he knew that his confidence was in the savior rather than the ship, and in the same way we should be willing to trust God's promises even when we don't know exactly how our situation will end up. 

Week 2 of "Horizons"

Tony Clark kicks off a 3 week series on the book of acts, talking about how Jesus' command after showing up in Paul's life was for Paul to "Get up and go", and in the same way Jesus commands us to step into what He's calling us to without fear.

Pastor Brian Howard preaches out of Jonah 3 and 4 about Jonah's response to God's mercy over the city of Nineveh. Jonah didn't like the way that God forgave the Ninevites, and he responded in bitterness and self righteousness instead of compassion and mercy. Our struggle with judging others often stems from that same sense of bitterness and self righteousness rather than offering them mercy.
