Calvary HSM

Tony Clark preaches out of 1 John 2:15-17 about what it means to protect your heart against becoming undivided. God calls us not to a life of balance but to a life of being all in for Him. 

Tony Clark preaches out of Luke chapter 10 about the story of the Good Samaritan. He poses 5 questions for us to ask ourselves to determine whether or not we're the "right kind of busy". The 5 questions are:

• Do I help people when it doesn’t help me?
• Do I help people when it’s inconvenient?
• Do I help people when they might not take the help/make fun of me? 
• Do I think about my free time as “mine” or as God’s? 
• Do I take the time and effort to help people in a way that's actually helpful?

We're proclaiming that 2020 will be the year of the bold prayer for HSM, so what better way to end 2019 and enter 2020 than in a time of prayer together? This guided prayer exercise will give you space to pray for those in your immediate family, your life, and your community. 

Tony Clark preaches out of Luke 2:8-20 for week three of Calvary HSM's "Next Christmas" series. He preaches on the story of the shepherds who visited the baby Jesus, and about what your life could look like if you searched for God this year in the same way the shepherds searched for Jesus. 

Pastor Brian Howard preaches about the concept of waiting and living in the "Already... but not yet" reality that we live in as Christians. The mark of a deep faith is found in your ability to patiently wait on God. 

Week 2 of the Calvary HSM series "Next Christmas".

Tony Clark preaches out of Isaiah 7 to start Calvary HSM's Christmas service - "Next Christmas". Preparing for what God has in store for you next year means starting today, and the benefits of preparation in your life come in the form of a fresh perspective, the ability to pivot, and the positioning of your heart for God to use you. 

Pastor Brian Howard preaches about why we do the Christmas Lock In every year and what is important about providing an invitation for people to experience Jesus. We were invited into God's house regardless of what we've done, so we should feel free to invite others to that house as well. 

Ben Howard preaches on what the Bible has to say about body image and weight, and about the dangers of comparing ourselves to those around us.

1. Why should we talk about this topic at church?
2. "How far is too far?" when dating?
3. What is the difference between lust and love?
4. Why would God design us with these impulses and desires if He knew that they would lead us into sin?
5. Why hasn't God delivered me from this temptation? 

Brit Vargas preaches kicking off week 1 of Calvary High School Ministry's week 1 of the "Asking For A Friend" series, answering questions about drugs, alcohol, addiction, and substance abuse.
